As written in this article The U.S. has conducted a study that shows coastal wind farms could have a significant impact on generating elctricity for the U.S. A similiar study may also be a good for Pacific Islands with regards to the environmental impact of coastal windfarms vs the environmental impact of diesel electric generators, and as a step forward to self sustainable power supply.
